Massaud X Nepal – Parvata Project at Maison&Objet 2019 in Paris
During Maison & Objet 2019 cc-tapis was proud to unveil the new project Parvata. A project designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for both cc-foreducation and cc-tapis.
“Nepalese and Tibetan craftsmen, masters of the art of hand-knotted rugs, have translated our concept in their own traditional aesthetic-language to convey the natural wonders of Himalayan rock formations. Parvata: a segment of the Himalayas.” Jean-Marie Massaud
A homage to the country it was created in, the name “Parvata” is the Nepali word for mountain and is produced by cc-tapis in the Kathmandu valley at the base of the Himalayas. A rug born to enrich the lives of the craftsmen that created it and the future of Nepal.
Parvata Limited Edition for cc-foreducation:
A series of 6 pieces hand-knotted in silk with linen borders, each individually numbered. The Parvata limited edition was presented for the first time in collaboration with Silvera at their Silvera Bac Boutique in Paris with all proceeds of the sales going to our non-profit organization cc-foreducation, to provide a complete education to school and university students in Nepal.
Parvata for cc-tapis:
Hand-knotted in Himalayan wool and silk with linen borders, this version has been included in the cc-tapis catalog and was presented for the first time on the cc-tapis stand at Maison & Objet.
