Kipling launches a vintage collection inspired by the 90s
Kipling, the brand that is known worldwide for practical yet stylish bags for every occasion, is due to launch a collection of vintage bags at the end of this year.
Taking its inspiration from the 90s trend, the collection will hark back to the very roots of the brand. Kipling turns 30 this year and on the occasion of its birthday, will revisit the styles that started it all.
Paul Van de Velde and Xavier Kegels started the company in Antwerp in 1987, turning it into a world player in casual fashion which is sold in 67 countries worldwide.
The collection consists of 5 styles in 5 colours: sporty waist bags, versatile casual bags, a small backpack and a duffel bag. Each of these silhouettes has been recycled from the design archives of the brand. They contain authentic features like the iconic round logo, large zippers and a monkey as keychain.
Furthermore, they will be released in the classic striking colours: yellow, red, white, blue and black. The 90s are really back on the streets.
“We started by going back 30 years in our archives. And we discovered that the bags are just as timeless, modern and relevant as they were when they were launched for the first time. By relaunching these in their original styles, we get an authentic and nostalgic collection that is still on-trend. We have seen the major success of the 90s trend, so we have gone back to basics for this collection”, says Jürgen Derycke, Sr. Omni Channel Marketing Manager.
