Vitra installation at Selfridges for London Craft Week 2017
In celebration of London Craft Week 2017 Vitra have created an installation in its dedicated space on the 4th floor of the iconic department store. The installation is based around the craftsmanship of the hand painted Wooden Dolls by Alexandra Girard. Visitors will experience life size versions of the Wooden Dolls - which are in London for the first time - as well as understanding the production of the design classics. The installation will be on display for 2 weeks from the 3rd May.
The Vitra Accessories collection at Selfridges comprises both classic and contemporary designs, offering timeless creations from designers including Charles & Ray Eames, Alexander Girard and George Nelson alongside modern pieces from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Arik Levy, Michel Charlot and Hella Jongerius amongst other leading design figures. The retail space has been designed by the Hamburg based Studio Besau Marguerre and is featuring the Vitra retail shelving system Kado.
Visitors to the new retail space will experience some of the latest designs from Vitra – from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec’s Nuage vases that produce a striking interplay of light and shadow, to the playful Dot Pillows by Hella Jongerius, and multi-functional O-Tidy storage containers by Michel Charlot. As of January, the Vitra Accessories are also available to buy online
Vitra is now open on the 4th floor of Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London
