Global Design Brand Nude to Launch New Iris Apfel Inspired Collection and New Designer Collaboration

This week, global design brand Nude, known for its exquisite design-led crystalline glass collections, will present its new Iris Apfel Inspired collection for the first time. Exhibiting at Frankfurt’s Ambiente, Nude will present the first of its ‘Inspired by Iris’ collections alongside brand new decorative glassware collections designed by a pool of international talents, including Space Copenhagen, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance and Defne Koz.

Iris Apfel has added her own unique touch to existing Nude collections by adding layers of decoration and colour. Tomas Kral’s iconic ‘Beak’ collection has been reimagined in acid bright colours and bold stripes. The once simple ‘Mono Box’, originally designed by Ayse Birsel for Nude, has similarly undergone an Iris Apfel-inspired transformation, with clashing colours and elegant patterns being added to the vase’s curved exterior.

Nude has worked with award-winning design studio Space Copenhagen for the first time on a mesmerising collection entitled ‘Silhouette’. Made up of trays, vessels and bowls, the ‘Silhouette’ collection features ornamented objects with a functional purpose. Fluid and organic shapes run throughout the collection: the broad outline of the glass bowls evokes an open hand and invites users to engage with the object.

The Danish design-duo has reinterpreted ancient motifs in the new crystalline tray collection for Nude. Featuring geometric compartments, the clean lines of the tray recalls ancient relics filtered through a highly modern lens.

Another first-time collaboration with a globally renowned design talent comes in the form of two new lighting collections by French designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance : Fusion’ and ‘Babel’ are handcrafted rechargeable table lamps and are inspired by two natural materials that are combined to make glass: water and sand. The organic shape of the ‘Fusion’ lamp, crafted from blown glass, evokes a drop of water, whilst the rough texture of ‘Babel’, crafted from cut crystal, is symbolic of sand.
